Joe Mountain is a musician and producer based in Wiltshire, UK, and the founder of the independent record label Medical Grade Music.

As a guitarist he has performed with Elixir, Afterglow, Levin and Maddicott Mountain, and is currently a member of Mute TV and The Blood Choir. He also works as a producer and musician with artist Hayden Cleverley.

Mute TV are currently recording their debut album, with their first single “Drag Me Down” set for release on Medical Grade Music in Spring 2026. New music from Hayden Cleverley will also be released through the label later in 2026.

With The Blood Choir, Joe has released two albums, No Windows To The Old World (IRL) and House of the Sun (Village Recordings), along with the Dartmoor EP. The band have toured with Arbouretum and shared stages with The Magic Band, Silver Apples, John Parish, Dylan Carlson and The Handsome Family.

Joe recently composed the score for the documentary The View From Above alongside producer and engineer Jon Walker (Overmono, Warmduscher). The soundtrack is available now via Wessex Recordings.
